Tom Marks

                             Mr. Marks is the past President and co-founder of DataBase Technologies (DBT) a company dedicated to using information technology to improve the science of database marketing.

DBT specializes in providing desktop computer access to large marketing databases which gives marketing executives analysis, targeting, selection and tracking capabilities in support of database marketing.  At DBT he has consulted with companies such as ADP, Bell Atlantic Mobile, Lucent Technologies, and Merrill Lynch. 

Mr. Marks’ professional experience includes over 20 years of related activities, principally systems development and marketing consulting projects including market analysis for purposes of sales force design, sales program development, market planning and market potential assessment.  He has worked extensively with clients such as American Express, Control Data Corporation, 3M, RCA Data Services, Wang Laboratories and General Electric, designing and developing systems to improve their sales productivity and market strategies.

Mr. Marks began his professional career with American Telephone and Telegraph Company, Long Lines Department, where he was the project leader of a market research and simulation group.  The group was involved in the analysis of the demand for data communications products and services.  The projects typically included sophisticated market simulation models which constituted sizable EDP projects in themselves.

Mr. Marks holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Management Science, both from Stevens Institute of Technology.  He has also done graduate work in Operations Research at Colombia University.
